As it was previously reported, Sergio Busquets is likely to leave Barcelona next summer and move to MLS.
He’s been one of the crucial players in the squad for over a decade now and it’s hard to find a good replacement.
However, Xavi seems to have already found the one player who might be a good fit. It’s Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, Mundo Deportivo reports.
Everyone at Barca – from Xavi to Alemany and Cruyff to the technical area – considers Zubimendi a suitable pivot.
The 23-year-old Basque still has 3 years left on his contract with Sociedad, and a €60m release clause. The Blaugrana believe he is worth the money and are willing to pay.
The only sticking point might be the fact that Sociedad are looking to extend Zubimendi’s deal and double his release clause.
❓Do you think we should sign Zubimendi or we are good with Frenkie De Jong and Franck Kessie?
